The Hub City and Handbags

My name is Lisa and I live in the Hub City. That's Hattiesburg, Mississippi in case you didn't know! According to Wikipedia, this is how Hattiesburg became known as the Hub City:

Hattiesburg gained its nickname, the Hub City, in 1912 as a result of a contest in a local newspaper. This suggestion came because the city was the intersection of a number of important rail lines. Later the city also became the intersection of state highways
U.S. Highway 49, U.S. Highway 98 and U.S. Highway 11, and later, Interstate 59. Hattiesburg is centrally located less than 100 miles from the state capital of Jackson as well as the Mississippi Gulf Coast, New Orleans and Mobile, Alabama.[2]

Hattiesburg is a great place to live. . .we moved away for about 10 years and we missed it! We were able to move back a few years ago and are having so much fun being back!

With this blog, I hope to blend my love for Hattiesburg with my love for handbags! I have recently opened a shop on Etsy called hubcityhandbags. I'm having a great time designing and creating cute bags! Since I was a little girl, I always loved to take bits and pieces and make something! And my mother always told me that the best way to get me in a good mood was to buy me a new purse!!! Now with my three daughters entering young adulthood, I have time to combine the fun of creating something with the joy of a new purse! I invite you to check out my shop on Etsy. . . www.hubcityhandbags.etsy.com. Check back often since I will be adding new bags regularly.
